Editorial standards
Our aim is to help families and adult learners make informed music-learning decisions. Clear limits are part of useful advice.
Effective 1 October 2026. This policy applies to the public discovery website and learning guides.
How our guides are made
Each guide answers a specific question with practical examples, a checklist or a comparison. Factual claims about examination rules or published research link to the relevant source. Illustrative schedules and budgets are labelled as examples, not promises or market surveys.
The initial guide collection was prepared with AI assistance and source checks. The byline identifies the SwarShala publishing desk, not an invented individual musician. No qualified music-teacher review is claimed. A named expert or provider is credited only with their agreement and a description of their contribution.
Dates, sources and corrections
Publication and update dates represent substantive work on an article, not an automatically refreshed timestamp. Source pages can change; check an examination board’s current rules before paying or booking. Report a disputed claim through support, with the page URL and evidence. We assess corrections and update the affected content and date when warranted.
Provider profiles and verification
We publish a provider profile only after permission to publish and a review of the submitted information. Self-reported experience is described as such. A future verification label must say exactly what was checked, how it was checked and when. Checking contact details is not an endorsement of teaching quality, qualifications or child safety. No blanket “verified teacher” guarantee is offered.
Profiles should distinguish confirmed information from unknown fields: instruments, levels, languages, lesson format, location, approach, qualifications, experience, current availability, fees or quote process, and cancellation policies. Provider registration alone does not create a public profile.
Comparisons, advertising and payment
Compare teaching fit, lesson length, group size, total cost, availability, delivery mode and written policies. We do not invent rankings or ratings. The current site has no paid placement or live display advertising. If paid listings are introduced, they will be labelled and separated from editorial recommendations. Payment must not change an editorial judgement without disclosure.
We do not publish copied lessons, unauthorized sheet music, fabricated reviews or unsubstantiated claims about learning outcomes. Public guides remain available without a contact form.
